Robust and rich, this Cabernet Sauvignon is balanced by just the right amount of fruit, oak and acidity. On the palate, flavors of black cherry and black plum are laced with a whiff of dried herbs, while toasted oak nuances are prominently displayed, yet well-integrated and complementary. This is a wine that's delicious on its own, but would also make a delightful accompaniment for steak hot off the grill.
Lodi: Lodi has a Mediterranean climate similar to that along the Mediterranean Sea, with warm days and cool nights. The soil, unlike many other appellations, varies within the AVA, though in most places it is a deep loam that occasionally is covered with large rocks, similar to the French region of Chateauneuf du Pape. This region is best known for its old vine Zinfandel.
